I've known that I wanted to work with children since I began volunteering in high school. I found Hampshire Country School while studying elementary and special education, and connected to what I heard about prioritizing relationships with children, individualizing instruction to student interests, and responding to challenge behaviors with kindness rather than punishment. I love the idea that my "job" is to play, laugh, read, and ask questions with children. In my first years here I was a relief dorm parent, then ran our elementary program. Now, I am a teacher and Special Education Coordinator here at HCS. This has been my home since 2020 and I am learning more each day. Outside of class time you are most likely to run into me painting, looking for my next scary movie, playing with my camera, or feeding my chickens. |
